The District’s July 2026 newsletter is hitting mailboxes now. Inside, you’ll find the latest updates for our growers, including:

2026 water supply updates — 49,000 acre-feet allocated by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, a $62.50 per acre-foot surface water rate, and surface water orders open since May 26
A new billing process — surface water billing now uses a deposit and true-up system
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) incentives — a $20 per acre-foot annual surface water credit for up to 10 years ($300/acre total allowable credit), with applications reviewed on a rolling basis at csjwcd.org/cip
Grants for growers on the horizon — the District and four partners submitted a State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) Block Grant proposal in May that would pay growers directly for on-farm water efficiency improvements
Shoring up groundwater resources — why closing the Eastern San Joaquin Subbasin’s estimated 90,000–95,000 acre-foot annual groundwater deficit takes both increased supply and reduced demand
